Numbers
Last week was my first whole week in my consultant position at MNS Financial. Ive learned so much already but there are too many numbers floating in my head. I had my first dream about work and I'm pretty sure it consisted only of formulas. Also, I'm planning a trip to New York for next weekend to visit an old roommate of mine in the city so I've been dealing with all of the financial preparation for that as well. The weather is going to be great and it's been three years since I've been up to NYC and it's one of my favorite places. I really like my job and I've already done four different kinds of loans for clients. Somehow I always thought I would end up in finance.

I got a Job!!!
So I interviewed for a position at MNS Financial on Thursday and found out the next day that I was hired. I started on Monday and only worked for a few hours to get a feel for what I'll be doing. Today is my first full day, and although I am slightly overwhelmed, I'm learning a lot and getting a good grasp on what I'm doing. I am a loan modification specialist. People who mortgaged their home a couple of years ago when the Real Estate Market was doing well normally went for adjustable rate mortgages because the interest rates were so low. Now, the market has completely 180-d and their interest rates are going through the roof. As a loan modification specialist, I work on behalf of clients to lower their interest and try to get them into a low fixed rate mortgage. So far so good. I haven't closed any deals yet being my second day, but I'm really excited to get into it and hopefully do really well. Oh, and yeah, I can't go with my family to Aruba now because I couldn't pass up this job opportunity and they wanted me to start immediately. Or at least my parents said I couldn't pass up the opportunity. It's all for the best I know, but fun in the sun in Aruba sounded like so much fun and this weekend is going to be so boring now.

Surprise Trip
So my mom's 50th birthday is next week and I just found out that my parents have decided to take us to Aruba for a long weekend. I'm actually not a huge fan of the beach, but I love going on vacation for good food and relaxation. We're staying at some private resort on the south shore. This is perfect timing too because I'm getting very stressed with my job hunt. Four days of fun in the sun sounds like the perfect distraction. My mom's a twin so almost my whole family is going on the trip and I'm really stoked to see all of them because it doesn't happen that often.

The Hunt for a Job
I've been looking for a job now for about a month and a half and in the past few days I have had a lot of luck. I have an interview at the end of this week with MNS Financial for a sales position and I hope it goes really well. Also, my aunt is trying to get me an interview with a law firm that her company has worked with for years. I really hope one of them works out because I am getting pretty bored without a job. Also, I am bummed because the "hurricane" was such a joke. I was expecting a really cool storm and we didn't even see a single strike of lightning. Maybe next time.

Labor Day Weekend
This labor day weekend was definitely one to remember. Starting school back is always a little nerve-racking for me, but this weekend was so relaxing that I almost forgot I had to go back, at least till Sunday. Sunday, I went with some friends to a bar that was having an all night mud wrestling competition and a lot of my friends were doing it. My roommate convinced me to wrestle him which turned out to be a lot of fun, but for the last two days every muscle in my body is in so much pain that I can barely move. I am definitely paying for it now. I rounded out the labor day holiday with a cookout at a friends house last night and got a great night sleep last night and am now ready for the school week to commence.
