Exams :(

So the semester is coming to an end and I can not wait for the holidays. I turn 23 two days after Christmas and every New Year's I go to Atlanta to catch four nights of STS9 starting on the 28th. It's my favorite time of the year. I love being at home and spending time with my family. I can't cook at all so it is always nice to be cooked for while at home. Winterbreak is always rejuvenating and I'm really glad it is almost here. I've only got two more classes and two more exams and the semester is done. I'm nervous about my presentation. I hope it goes well . . .

Shiver

The weather has gotten out of control. I never remember it being this cold before Thanksgiving let alone in Charleston at all. The Farmers Almanac says its going to be a really cold winter and they are definitely right. I'm excited that Thanksgiving is in a few days. I really need to get away from school and work. The end of the semester is always just filled with work. The College of Charleston Library is so much better than the Citadel library. I'm so glad I can still come to CofC's library after graduating. I'm getting a new car when I go home for Thanksgiving and I'm extremely excited about that although I wish I wasn't having to get a new car since I loved my old new car. :(

Music!!

I'm really stoked this week because my favorite band, Sound Tribe Sector 9 is touring in the southeast and I'm going to be able to make a lot of the shows. We went to Knoxville on Saturday for the show and tomorrow night they will be in Charleston! Tonight another one of my favorite bands, Pnuma Trio, is playing here in Charleston and that will be a great show as well. Thursday, we're back on with Sound Tribe in Charlotte and they are playing all weekend in DC. Other than that work is okay and I'm so glad my boss is being relaxed with my hours so I can make all the shows and I can't wait for Thanksgiving break so I can go home and see all my family.

Obama Wins!!

I am so glad Obama won last night! I had confidence that he was going to, but I'm so ecstatic that he did. I think it goes to show that Republicans are idiots in that in the last two years they have lost around 55 seats in the House and at least 8 seats in the Senate. I would love to hear from anyone that disagrees with that statement as long as they didn't vote for Bush in 2004, because if they did then they helped make our country what it is today. I can't wait for Bush to leave office and I can't wait to see how great of a job Obama will do. Go Democrats!!!

Job Promotion and Halloween

Yesterday I got a promotion. My salary is pretty much the same but I have a lot more responsibility now and way more paperwork. It's definitely worth it because I'm learning so much more now. I'm also really excited about Halloween this weekend. Im going as a vampire. Thursday night one of my favorite djs is playing a Hallow's Eve show and that weekend is going to be crazy by default. I have so much to do before I can leave the office today and have even more to do before class tonight.

Everytime the Weather Changes . . .

Everytime the weather changes I get sick. It never fails. I was pretty sick all weekend and am finally feeling better today. Everytime the weather changes I have to take midterms. I guess everyone has to take midterms when the weather changes but it never fails. Everytime the weather changes I have to retrace my steps to the same season of the former year and figure out what happened to all my clothes. I guess it is just innate in a guy that we don't store things well or organized or maybe it is just me. Charleston weather is the worst sometimes because the weather will change for one season at least eight times until it finally decides to stay hot or stay cold and it's almost impossible to tell when it is here for good.

NYC

I had the best weekend in New York. I definitely did not wear the bandage around my thumb like i should have and it is still killing me, but it was worth it. Friday night I went to see MSTRKRFT with my old roommate Katie. They are these DJs that play some great dance music. The show was in Webster Hall which is a huge nightclub. Saturday, I walked around the city shopping and sightseeing with an old flame and then went to dinner and a show. We saw Spring Awakening which won the 2007 Best Musical Tony and it starred Silas from Weeds on Showtime which is one of my favorites shows. After the show we met up with friends for drinks and then went home. Sunday my old roommate and I went to see Legally Blonde on Broadway because it starred a girl that I was friends with in high school and I wanted to catch her before she left the show. All in all it was a great weekend and now Im back and ready to pump out the next 6 weeks of school.

NYC this weekend!!!

So last weekend I messed up my thumb pretty bad and it's currently healing. It has kinda put a damper on my work and school week seeing as I can barely write and my typing is all messed up. Nonetheless, I should be fine by Friday which is the day I'm leaving for NYC!!! I'm going to hang out with my old roommate Katie and good friend Ryan. We're going to see MSTRKRFT Friday night at Webster Hall which is going to be a crazy all night dance party. The rest of the weekend we are just going to hang out around the city and maybe see a show. I'm really stoked but I wish my hand would hurry up and heal.

Numbers

Last week was my first whole week in my consultant position at MNS Financial. Ive learned so much already but there are too many numbers floating in my head. I had my first dream about work and I'm pretty sure it consisted only of formulas. Also, I'm planning a trip to New York for next weekend to visit an old roommate of mine in the city so I've been dealing with all of the financial preparation for that as well. The weather is going to be great and it's been three years since I've been up to NYC and it's one of my favorite places. I really like my job and I've already done four different kinds of loans for clients. Somehow I always thought I would end up in finance.

I got a Job!!!

So I interviewed for a position at MNS Financial on Thursday and found out the next day that I was hired. I started on Monday and only worked for a few hours to get a feel for what I'll be doing. Today is my first full day, and although I am slightly overwhelmed, I'm learning a lot and getting a good grasp on what I'm doing. I am a loan modification specialist. People who mortgaged their home a couple of years ago when the Real Estate Market was doing well normally went for adjustable rate mortgages because the interest rates were so low. Now, the market has completely 180-d and their interest rates are going through the roof. As a loan modification specialist, I work on behalf of clients to lower their interest and try to get them into a low fixed rate mortgage. So far so good. I haven't closed any deals yet being my second day, but I'm really excited to get into it and hopefully do really well. Oh, and yeah, I can't go with my family to Aruba now because I couldn't pass up this job opportunity and they wanted me to start immediately. Or at least my parents said I couldn't pass up the opportunity. It's all for the best I know, but fun in the sun in Aruba sounded like so much fun and this weekend is going to be so boring now.

Surprise Trip

So my mom's 50th birthday is next week and I just found out that my parents have decided to take us to Aruba for a long weekend. I'm actually not a huge fan of the beach, but I love going on vacation for good food and relaxation. We're staying at some private resort on the south shore. This is perfect timing too because I'm getting very stressed with my job hunt. Four days of fun in the sun sounds like the perfect distraction. My mom's a twin so almost my whole family is going on the trip and I'm really stoked to see all of them because it doesn't happen that often.

The Hunt for a Job

I've been looking for a job now for about a month and a half and in the past few days I have had a lot of luck. I have an interview at the end of this week with MNS Financial for a sales position and I hope it goes really well. Also, my aunt is trying to get me an interview with a law firm that her company has worked with for years. I really hope one of them works out because I am getting pretty bored without a job. Also, I am bummed because the "hurricane" was such a joke. I was expecting a really cool storm and we didn't even see a single strike of lightning. Maybe next time.

Labor Day Weekend

This labor day weekend was definitely one to remember. Starting school back is always a little nerve-racking for me, but this weekend was so relaxing that I almost forgot I had to go back, at least till Sunday. Sunday, I went with some friends to a bar that was having an all night mud wrestling competition and a lot of my friends were doing it. My roommate convinced me to wrestle him which turned out to be a lot of fun, but for the last two days every muscle in my body is in so much pain that I can barely move. I am definitely paying for it now. I rounded out the labor day holiday with a cookout at a friends house last night and got a great night sleep last night and am now ready for the school week to commence.
